Mistletoe Christmas

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge has started a new challenge. As always, the theme is ‘anything goes Christmas’. Here is my card:

I really enjoyed creating this card, as there is a lot of different media and techniques which I am getting to like.

The background is a layer of Kraft card which has been embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, then gold rubbed gently over the texture to create some shine.

The mistletoe leaves where die cut from a previous messy play time – tissue paper glued down onto some card, scrunching it as you glue it, then sprinkled with powder pigments – I think I used Brushos), water spritzed over the powder to encourage movement – then left to dry.

Once dry, I rubbed some over the top to catch the ridges created by the tissue paper, then die cut the leaves.

I added a foiled sentiment and a three facetted gold gems.

I hope you can come and join us. xx

I shall be entering the following challenges:

CYHTP – embossing folder – option not taken

  2. Hi Loopyloo,
I love this wonderful card and your design looks stunning.
That embossing folder used is gorgeous and your colouring of the mistletoe with brushos and the gold is really effective.
