Hello. I was intrigued by a couple of challenges where you had to create a Christmas card using scraps, and others for Christmas and no stamping. Here is what I came up with:

Now I know why I kept all those strips of card and patterned paper:

I started by taking a white panel and sticking down some double-sided tape all over it. Once the backing was removed, I took pieces from the pile in the photo above and stuck them down. I chose a diagonal pattern rather than straight up and down. It came together quite easily I must say. I then trimmed that panel down a little and adhered to a white card base.
The sentiment is from Time 4 Tea Designs, with the shadow layer, and then three layers of the smaller sentiment – topped with gold card stock from Spellbinders.

I’m still very fascinated by the strip background, and as you can see I have lots left to create more.
I shall be entering the following challenges:
Jingle Belles – Christmas and no stamping
Krafty Chicks – occasion
Peace On Earth – Anything goes Christmas
52 Christmas Card Throwdown – Christmas and use your scraps
Christmas Craft Creations – Christmas and no stamping

I keep all my strips and use them in similar ways to this card. You can get some lovely patterns and it is good to use up scraps in a creative way. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLUCCMPZLv0 She has some different ideas using strips. I love the card by the way.
