Christmas Crew Snowman

Hello again. I have managed to get to my craft room, despite still feeling a little jaded – this blinking cold/virus is hanging on in there!

Here is my card:

and a little better view of the glimmer and shine:

Another all-out blingy card here – seems to be a habit at this time of year.

I used the MFT ‘Christmas Crew Snowman‘ die set, and cut my own tag for the based with Crafters Companion glitter card. It’s great that MFT give the dimensions of the base tag/card for the snowman on their web-site, just in case you don’t have the basic tag die set.

I die cut the elements out of black glitter card, and red shiny card, putting them together with the hat on at a jaunty angle instead of straight.

The two blue card colours are from my stash – hopefully matching the colour scheme at CAS Colours and Sketches, as I don’t have the Stampin’ Up colour card they suggested………die cut with MFT stitched rectangles, then again cut with the Lawn Fawn ‘Stitched Hillside‘ dies to create a little curve.

The sentiment is from MFT ‘Tis The Season‘ stamp set – and I think I’m going to play further with that set now I’ve ‘found‘ it again!

Friendly Raccoons

Hi again. Another weekend ahead for me to look forward to. I made a card today to enter some challenges:

I wanted this card to be quite simple, but the actually design took some figuring out. I tried colouring some of the hills, ink blending some of the hills, but in the end went with a clean look leaving the background white. I did emboss the little piece which came out – again – but otherwise the only colour is on the little images themselves.

I used MFT ‘Friendly Raccoon‘, coloured simply with Copics. I don’t have the exact colours for the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge, but I tried to match my Copics to what was wanted. I used Lawn Fawn ‘Stitched Backdrop‘ die as you see, with the little heart being from Concord and 9th ‘Triple Step Thank You‘, and the sentiment from a stamp set sat on my desk, but I’ve no idea who it’s from!

I recently received this stamp and die set, and a whole bunch of goodies, from Justine Hovey. She was selling some of her stock off, and took the opportunity to grab some goodies. The postage was only a little extra to come all the way to the UK, and it only took one week to get here.

When I opened the package I was absolutely gob-smacked with the amount of stuff she had put in there. Blinking heck! Concord and 9th, MFT, Spellbinders, Gina K, Gerda Steiner……….and I have not got a single one of them already. Even one of my cats was impressed:

Colourful and blingy

Hello again. I have been playing with colours, and trying to create a scenic card, and a second card which made me smile as I was colouring it.

First is the scenic card:

and a close-up of the silver bling:

The base is water-colour card and blended blues from my Distress Oxide collection. I then took the die cut from Avery Elle ‘Let it Snow‘ and cut the little holes/stars into it. I then splashed it with Gansai Tambi ‘Starry Colours‘ for some extra shimmer.

The Santa Clause and Reindeer are from the same stamp set as the two critters – Lawn Fawn ‘Winter Skies‘, stamped in black and heat embossed.

The hills and little town are cut out of silver glitter card, and again cut using the hillside dies – both from Lawn Fawn – and layered out of sync – so they create some dimensional hills.

The two little critters are coloured with my Zigs, as are the trees.

The second card:

This is a cheshire cat stamp from Visible Image. stamped first and masked off, then using a stencil to create a weird background…….then coloured with my Zigs.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

I now have three days off work, and I plan to craft and craft and craft to get a substantial stock of Christmas cards – but as I have also received a bunch of the new Altenew stamps – there may be some general cards too…………you can’t have too many of them, either, can you?
