Poinsettia Christmas

Hello. A new challenge has begun at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge – the theme is ‘anything goes Christmas’. Here is my card:

I used Concord & 9th cardstock for the red and green leaves on the poinsettia, curled or bent the leaves a little for added dimension, before sticking them together.

The stitched backdrop is from Lawn Fawn, with some gold and Kraft striped paper at the top and bottom edges.

The die cut sentiment is from Altenew, layered a few times.

That’s it – fairly straight-forward – and it came together quite easily, I must say.

I hope you can come and join us with your Christmas creations – they can be anything Christmas, and not just cards. I look forward to seeing you there. xx

When Life Gets Prickly….

Hi there. I’ve been sorting out my craft room, and once I had a nice and clean desk – then I just had to craft, didn’t I? And – I tidied everything up afterwards! I don’t think this will last, but at least I’ll try.

Here is my card:

As I was tidying some of my stuff, I put new stamps and dies in a box so I could play with them. This is one of the stamp and die sets that has just been sitting around getting all lonesome…..

I started by using some Crafters Companion Neenah desert Storm card stock, and stamped the Concord and 9th ‘Stuck On You‘ cactus in a light green, then kinda rocked a darker green over the stamp and stamped again, to get two colours of green.

I then stamped the plantar in Versafine Clare brown, and the little hearts which I placed in a row, and the notice board.

I die cut the images – except the notice board which I had to cut out by hand – and attached everything to a darker brown card base as you see.

A complete contrast to my very, very pink card yesterday………..

Let’s Shellabrate

Hello yet again – As you can tell – I’ve been busy in my craft room. I’ve spent some time relaxing in the sun, reading, and thinking about challenges and colours for my next card. I was so inspired, that I couldn’t wait to make it:

You’ll have to forgive the couple of rain drops – I didn’t realise it was raining until I got out there, by which time the drops had hit!

For this card I used Heffy Doodle ‘Let’s Shellabrate‘ stamp and die set – I think they were actually a freebie with one of their orders. Once stamped, I used the colours for the current Color Throwdown challenge to colour this little blighter in, added some white gel pen for accent, added his little hat, then followed the current sketch at Fusion Challenge.

The theme using the turtle, is taken from the current challenge at Die Cuttin’ Divas, and using their inspiration photo.

Have a good day, and I’ll see you again soon. 🙂 🙂
