Wish you the most beautiful day

Hello again. I have a couple of cards to share today after going through another lesson at the Altenew Academy, and trying a different technique:

This first card is using the colours from Try Stampin On Tuesday – yellow, turquoise, and purple. The second card just because I couldn’t stop myself….. :

As per the lesson, I took one of the layering stamps from Altenew Beautiful Day – the second more solid layer, applied water-colour to it, added a little spritz, and stamped down onto water-colour card.

I went back in with a water-colour brush to swish the colour around a little – but not much. The I did the same with the second layer of the leaves and a yellow water-colour, covered the flower – with my hand – and splattered the Catherine Pooler Aquatini around, before letting it dry and stamping the sentiment. Talk about blue splattered hand! Also – if it’s water-colour – why doesn’t it come off the hand easily? Who knew!

The second card – I just couldn’t stop with the little flowers. Too many, I know, but there we go….I still think it makes a cute little card. I don’t know what happened with the yellow leaves, probably because I had some colour left on my brush, or the Aquatini wasn’t dry, but I think the merged colour adds some dimension. I also didn’t stamp enough leaves, but I was took much into stamping the little Aquatini flowers to leave space!

I’m now going back a few months and going through the One Layer Wonder course…..I’ll be practicing that too, I am sure.

I shall also be entering the first card into the current Altenew Challenge.

  1. Lovely in it’s simplicity, LoopyLoo! The purple flower looks almost 3D after you used the waterbrush on it! The stitching around the edges adds a subtle, yet warm feeling to the card. I cant imagine the card without it!!! Do you use a sewing machine to create the look? Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!!! -Donna
