Monochrome Magnolia

Hi there. A new challenge is beginning at Cardz 4 Galz, and this time we want to see your MONOCHROME creations.

Here is my card:

I began by stamping the outline of the Altenew ‘Build-a-flower Magnolia’ in Concord & 9th grey ‘Dove‘ ink from the mini cube set, and the second layer, missing out the base and more detailed layer as I wanted some white within the grey. Once they were die-cut, I played with the layout on a piece of black card embossed with a Crafters Companion 3D embossing folder until I came up with the placement you see.

Sentiment-wise – this is from Heffy Doodle – a vertical sentiment for a ‘just because’ reason. I am missing so many of my friends that I’m going to keep sending out little snippets like this – so they don’t forget me!

As if!!!!

I hope you can come and join us this time round – the Design Team has a whole variation of monochrome creations waiting to view – hope to see you there. xx

Warm Winter Hugs

Hello there. A little bit of crafting today. Some stamping, some die-cutting, some fussy-cutting, some dry embossing – here is the card:

I used the Gina K Designs card kit, and stamped the poinsettias in Catherine Pooler ‘Be Mine‘ ink, then stamped some leaves from the same kit in ‘Lime Rickey‘.

The other leaves are actually the Christmas tree from that same kit – but cut apart and used as leaves, and then inserted as you see.

HERE is my post where you can see what the tree looks like as it is meant to be.

The background is a Crafters Companion 3D embossing folder, just to add some extra interest, and the sentiment is from that same Gina K kit.

Looking at these pictures – I think I may need some re-inkers for my ink pads………..I think I have them somewhere……….now to go hunting!

Sparkling Stag

Hello there everyone. It’s time for another challenge to begin at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme – as always – is anything goes as long as it is Christmas related. There are some fabulous projects from my Design Team colleagues, and here is my project:

You may be thinking – I am sure she had a blue card last time – and you would be correct. And then there is silver again……….but for some reason I think blue and silver for Christmas cards is quite classic. I promise to move away from that colour scheme…..probably…..maybe 🙂 🙂

This card has no stamping on it – it is all die cuts……….Crafters Companion stag, sentiment, blue frame, poinsettia……all die cuts.

I tried something different here too – I die cut the stag four times in black card stock, stuck them together, then used the Tonic Studios embossing pad (my current favourite) to the top die cut, added Wow! embossing powder…..and there we have a glittery stag. I did use three layers of embossing to get a nice deep and full glittery coverage.

Then I decided to do the same with the frame – a cut-down version of the Reverse Confetti ‘Stitched Note and Frame die‘ – standing there in white on my desk – I think it worked quite well on white card……………

The silver background is using a Crafters Companion 3D embossing folder.

The poinsettia is a very old stamp and matching die set from Heartfelt Creations. I can’t find it currently on their web site so it must be very, very old….and no longer available – but I only used the die not the stamps, on silver card, and putting only a couple of the flower layers together, curling the leaves slightly for dimension. There are two larger leaves to this set, and also the middle stamens – but I put the brad there instead.

So – there we are – a new challenge for you to join us, being creative, and building your stash of Christmas cards ready for the end of the year.

I look forward to seeing your creations. 🙂 🙂 XX
