Curvy Girl with Diamond

Hello once again. I have a card to share today as a new challenge has started at The Alphabet Challenge – this time we have the letter ‘J‘ and we want to see ‘Jewels or Jewelry’. Here is my card:

This curvy girl is from Stamping Bella, stamped with Gina K amalgam ink then coloured with Copics.

Once die cut, I turned to plan my layers and colours for the card, raiding my stash of coloured card to find some that would match the dress – I didn’t think of that before I coloured her – and cut the layers as you see.

I thought it needed a little more bling/jewels, so I used some blingy purple tear-drop thingies……….no clue where I got them from but the colour seemed to match to dress…….and also found some Nuvo drops that matched too, but I restrained myself with those and only added eight drops….. 🙂

There is a lot of shiny jewels and jewelry from the design Team, such a joy to see. I hope you can come and join us – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Monochrome Magnolia

Hi there. A new challenge is beginning at Cardz 4 Galz, and this time we want to see your MONOCHROME creations.

Here is my card:

I began by stamping the outline of the Altenew ‘Build-a-flower Magnolia’ in Concord & 9th grey ‘Dove‘ ink from the mini cube set, and the second layer, missing out the base and more detailed layer as I wanted some white within the grey. Once they were die-cut, I played with the layout on a piece of black card embossed with a Crafters Companion 3D embossing folder until I came up with the placement you see.

Sentiment-wise – this is from Heffy Doodle – a vertical sentiment for a ‘just because’ reason. I am missing so many of my friends that I’m going to keep sending out little snippets like this – so they don’t forget me!

As if!!!!

I hope you can come and join us this time round – the Design Team has a whole variation of monochrome creations waiting to view – hope to see you there. xx

Kind Thoughts…..

Well hello again everyone. I have been crafting so much since the builders finished their work on our bathrooms that I have a card to share today – and – I have joined another Design Team! I have been accepted to The Alphabet Challenge DT and have created a card for the new challenge beginning today. The letter is ‘K’, and for our challenge it stands for ‘Kind Thoughts’.

Such a great theme, with so many possibilities. This is my card:

I stamped the new Altenew ‘Playful Plumeria‘ in orange, purple, and red – using all four layers for the flowers, and then used some green for the three layer leaves.

Once I had stamped all the images, even though I have the matching die set, I used my Scan’n’cut again – I had to put it through twice – without moving the card – as I needed it to cut a little deeper for this thicker Neenah card-stick.

I raised the flowers with 3D silicone gel, as I like to move them around a little before settling on position, and just pushed the leaves underneath. Lots of flowers, lots of leaves, and all coming from the one branch….

I had some left over so made another card – just because I could:

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I feel fits perfectly with the ‘;kind thoughts’ theme for our challenge. I do hope you can come and join us – remember the theme though, as I think there were some entries last time that didn’t meet the challenge theme – and I look forward to seeing you in our gallery.

Be sure to visit the Design Team too – there are some fabulous cards on their for inspiration.

A Butterfly and a Tulip…

Hello everyone. Did you imagine I was going to tell a joke about a butterfly and a tulip, walking into a bar……. 🙂 🙂 hmmm – I might have to think of a joke about that.

It’s my turn to host at Cardz4Galz and I chose the theme of ‘Wings’……….I thought that would create a lot of varied creations and I hope you can come and join us this time.

By wings, we mean exactly that – birds, butterflies, dragonflies, fairies, dragons……such a wide interpretation, I can’t wait to see what you create. The Design Team has some interesting and varied inspiration, so I hope you have a look and see how they have each created their projects.

I decided to go CAS – very clean, very simple – well, once I had decided where I was going with this………. 🙂

I used the Simon Says Stamp ‘Sweet Tulip‘ wafer die, and cut it out four times from card with double-sided sticky adhesive, so I could stack them all together for dimension.

The butterfly die is from Spellbinders – very old, very much used by my mum in the past.

I used some Distress Oxide in Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door on a piece of card stock, blended, then cut out the back of the butterfly. The inner butterfly cut from black card-stock to create some drama.

The sentiment is from a stamp set from Crafters Companion, and stamped in Altenew Obsidian pigment ink for the crisp letters.

I look forward to seeing you in our gallery……….. 🙂 🙂

Favourite Flower Colours

Hi there. I have a veritable feast of flowers to share on a card today. It is the new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and the theme is to use your favourite colours:

I couldn’t decide on one or two colours – so I did a few more! 🙂

I like pink and purple flowers, and I actually like when I stamp the flower layers using browns, too. The black leaves added as I do like black – is black a colour?

Anyhoo – these are my favourite colours when doing a card, especially with floral images – unless I am following a colour challenge – then the flowers become whatever is required.

I used a background stamp from Neat and Tangled, cut it down to put on the bottom half of the card, then added the flowers and leaves from Altenew ‘Always There’ with 3D glue – that way I can move them around a little until I am happy with the placement – and then push the black foliage underneath.

I hope you can come and join us with this challenge, and I see my fellow DT have come up with some very different creations – lots of different colours.

I shall also be entering this card into the following challenges:

Snowy Seasons Greeting

Hello there. I have a card to share with you today as there is a new challenge starting at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme is – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas.

I took the opportunity to use my Copics again – kinda getting into the colouring, but I still don’t see it as relaxing – just a way of getting more from my stamps, and allowing me to use digital images…..I’m going to be doing a Copic Colouring course in September with Faye Wynn-Jones – the first of four such classes, but in the meantime I’m Googling and You-tubing and basically using all kinds of resources out there – and there are loads!!

This card is using the stamped images from Honey Bee ‘Snow Birds’, the base and tree and house images from Lawn Fawn, with a Distress Crayon sky background……..The sentiment is die cut four times and stacked for dimension.

I have a couple of packs of these crayons – but never used them – I don’t how to!

Anyhoo – I saw a Create and Craft programme which spent an hour using them, so I had a go. I used water-colour card-stock, drew the two blue colours down, them after moistening my finger in a damp baby wipe – smooshed it through the colours……….it looked easy on the programme.

My colours didn’t really move that much – but I could see they were trying. So – I took the moist baby wipe and blended them with that! Hey presto – ink smooshed baby-wiped background……..

I kept the base card bigger than the frame, because I think it looks like a frame too – and I do like to flout the rules – having a wider edge on the sides than at the top! I could have cut it down – but I like it this way………

As I mentioned, it is a new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge, but I am also entering this card into the following:
