Googly Eyed Deer

Hello there. A new challenge is just beginning at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme is ‘anything goes’ and can be anything Christmas related – cards, tags, boxes, scrap-book pages.

Here is my card:

The die-cut deer is from Waffle Flower and using a Tim Holtz card/paper pad I have had for absolutely ages. I used this because the card has some detail and pattern to it. I cut the whole deer out of two brown colours, then played with the placement to create the deer as you see.

I definitely wanted to use googly eyes and found some in my stash.

The white card underneath was created with some glitter paste and a stencil, made previously and just waiting for the right Christmas card to add to, and the red and white striped card is from my stash – maybe Stampin Up but not completely sure!

I hope you can come and join us this time round and get a head-start on your Christmas creations – the Design Team has some amazing makes – and includes a whole variation of creations.

Birthday Roses

Hello yet again. I have a card to share absolutely brimming full with roses:

I started by using a Stampin Up stencil and Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste on a base layer, and whilst that was drying, I stamped and die cut the Altenew ‘Rosy Outlook’ images several times.

The sentiment is also from Altenew – forgetting that the ‘y‘ from ‘happy’ has a fault in it – so I took a black art liner pen and coloured the ‘fault’ in.

I played with the arrangement several times, and used 3D gel and my ‘go-to’ glue – the Tonic Deluxe adhesive.

Here is a close-up of the shimmer on the paste:

Hug Me!

Good evening everyone. I have a little card for you today which I have been thinking about for a couple of days, and just this evening have gotten down to doin’ it.

I was inspired by several challenges again. I die cut the main image in a post-it note, stuck it to the card base, placed the Stampin Up stencil over the top, and used the three red/pink colours from one of the challenges below. I then moved the stencil a little, and inked the same three colours again. I did this to create a kind of ombre look……

After stamping the main image, I coloured him in using my Faber Castell pencils, again in three different red/pink colours. I tried a little blending, but I don’t think the card base was that suitable for this technique – but it doesn’t look toooooo bad, I don’t think!

I then stamped three individual hearts along the right hand side, in the three different coloured inks I used. No reason why I did that, just thought I would as I saw them sitting there in the same stamp set.

As I was going down the clean and simple route again, I judged my card as finished at that point – it would have been so easy to add bits here and there.

Anyhoo – here are the challenges I will be entering:
