Hello Friend

A change in craftiness with this card – I wanted some messy crafting:

I started by creating the background panel. This is a Spellbinders stencil from a recent class, and I masked off the centre oval shape, then ink blended the two Distress Inks that you see. I added some brown around the edges for some darker contrast.

I then ink smooshed a couple of card panel – Distress Mixed Media Heavystock – with darker browns on one panel, and lighter browns on another. Once they were dry I used the Tim Holtz ‘Merry Moose‘ die, as I haven’t used him for quite a while. I wanted to enter a challenge where the theme was ‘deer’ – and then had to Google if a moose was a deer or something quite different – thankfully, a moose is part of the deer family – phew!

A simple white foiled sentiment to complete the card.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Lynda: your card is moo-velous!! There’s a moose on the loose! And a moose is welcome at our deer theme (I think of a moose as a cousin to a deer or elk). The moose looks so confident on where he is going with that stride captured in the die-cut!!! Your ink choices for the moose and the greens with a hint of brown for the stenciling are great! A wonderful mixed media card sure to cheer up anyone who looks at it! Thanks for participating at FarmQuest! –Becca

Your moose is wonderful and I love how you used the inks to create it. The background is great too. We have fawns born in the gully that joins our property with 2 neighbors. Two doe had babies, one just the one and the other twins. We’ve seen the one born first and about 6 days old now, but the twins we’ve not seen yet. They are only 3 or 4 days old we think. Our neighbor has seen them but so far we haven’t. The little one is so cute – all legs and wobbly.
