ABC Christmas Challenge – J and K

Hello there. ABC Christmas Challenge has reached the letters J and K. Wei is hosting, and this time we want to see your Christmas themed creations with ‘J for Joke and/or K for Kraft‘. I was inspired to make a card for each theme:

J for Joke
K for Kraft

For the first card I used the Tim Holtz die ‘Arthur’ and created him with a cream textured card stock with some brown ink blending around the edges. The hat is from a Simon Says Stamp die set – with some glitter applied to the white parts. The background is an ink smooshed background from my stash. The joke sentiment stamped onto some patterned paper and placed using 3D foam squares.

For the second card I created a shaker card using an ink smooshed background which I embossed using a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder, then applied Sizzix lustre wax. I placed this into a shaker creator from Tonic Studios, added glass beads and some thicker glitter and sealed it.

I die cut a Hero Arts Christmas cover panel out of Kraft, and stuck that down onto the front.

I hope you can come and join us with your Christmas creations – following one or both of our two themes. xx

Hummingbird Birthday

I have a card – two actually – to share today following a couple of days in my craft room:

I chose to use the Concord & 9th bundle and create two cards, as I couldn’t decide which of the hummingbirds to use.

I used a dark blue base layer for the birds, and other colours as you see. I also added another base layer for the bird to create another layer and thickness so I didn’t have to use 3D foam squares.

The floral arrangement I kept one colour – dark blue – to ensure the hummingbird was the star of the show, and also layered that twice – those little stems are a trifle challenging – but I managed!

The sentiment is from another C9 stamp set, white heat embossed and die cut with a banner die.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

See You Soon….

The Alphabet Challenge has reached the letter ‘C’, and Dawn has chosen the theme of ‘CARS’. Here is my card:

I stamped the images first, coloured with Copics, then used the matching die sets to cut them out.

These were stuck down onto a white panel with 3D foam, this panel layered with a Lawn Fawn panel, then adhered to a white card base.

The sentiment is from the same car critter stamp set.

I look forward to seeing your ‘car’ creations in our gallery. xx

It’s Wine O’Clock…..

Hello there. A new challenge has started at Cardz 4 Galz, and the theme chosen by Claudia is ‘Food and/or Drink‘. Here is my card:

I chose several images from a Clearly Besotted stamp set, stamped haphazardly around a card panel, then coloured with Copics.

The sentiment and the ‘hics‘ are stamped as you see. This panel was then layered with a dotty paper, and then onto a white card base.

I look forward to seeing your food and/or drink creations…..xx

Shiny Merry Christmas

Hello there. A little break from posting for me, but I’m back with a new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme is always ‘anything goes Christmas’. Here is my card:

I matted and layered some Lawn Fawn card stock – the foiled snowflakes – onto silver mirror card and teal card, then added a the die cut sentiment from Hero Arts.

I think the foil is enough shine and bling so I didn’t add any other jewels.

I hope you can come and join us – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery.

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge – Blend

Hello. Another card to share today, this time a CAS card for the new challenge starting at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge. This time the theme is ‘BLEND’ – as long as it’s a CAS card – then you’re good to go. Here is my card:

For this card I used a Pinkfresh Studio stencil – it’s a layering stencil but I masked off everything except these leaves. I then ink blended – Distress Oxides – through the stencil. The second layer – the leaves detail – I used Gina K Design glitter paste.

Onto a second piece of card I ink blended the same colours, and adhered it to the side of the card base, just reversing the order – purple opposite the yellow leaves and yellow opposite the purple leaves.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered it as you see.

I hope you can come and join us with your CAS ‘BLEND’ cards. xx

B is for Blooms

The Alphabet Challenge has started another challenge. Having reached the letter ‘B’, Debbie has chosen the theme of ‘BLOOMS’. Here is my card:

I chose another stamp set from Clearly Besotted, it must be an older one as it also has the matching die – something they don’t do any more. I love the vase full of the Spring daffodils and tulips.

Once stamped, coloured with Copics, and die cut, I added some white gel pen for some detail.

The ‘hello’ sentiment was die cut several times and layered for dimension.

The background strip was an off-cut from a previously used piece of patterned paper.

I look forward to seeing lots of colourful blooms on our gallery. xx

Pink Birthday

Hello once again. Cardz 4 Galz has started a new challenge. This time the theme has been chosen by Helen, and she has chosen ‘Think Pink’. Here is my card:

I think I may have fulfilled the brief!

I used a Lawn Fawn stitched scallop die on some patterned paper, also cutting out the centre and layering this with some pink splattered paper – also from Lawn Fawn.

The sentiment was die cut with some pink sparkly card stock – layered a couple of times with white for dimension.

I then added some pink gems from Doodlebug Designs which are from a previous online class.

I’m looking forward to seeing all your ‘pink’ makes in our gallery – it should make for some very bright viewing. xx

Shiny Holly Wreath

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge has started another ‘anything goes Christmas/Festive’ challenge. Here is my card:

This holly wreath and berries is another die bought from the Charlie and Paulchen company based in Germany. I die cut the wreath in white, then again in green, and the berries in shiny red card stock.

The panel on the card base is embossed using a 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp, with the white wreath adhered, then the green wreath on top and off-set.

Once I had added the red berries, I added glossy accents to the green holly leaves for extra shine.

I hope you can come and join us with your festive/Christmas makes – I look forward to seeing your creations. xx

3 Birds and a wreath

Hello. Some playtime again and creating with a new die set:

The wreath die comes with a bird die, and to create the colours I ink blended some Distress Oxide colours onto Bristol smooth card stock – Milled Lavender, Kitsch Flamingo, Bundled Sage, Faded Jeans.

Out of these pieces I die cut the wreath from the Bundled Sage, and the the birds from the other colours.

I embossed a piece of card with a Simon Says Stamp 3D embossing folder, trimmed the edges with the Tim Holtz Deckle Trimmer, and adhered with a piece of craft foam.

I glued the wreath down, but as it is quite a fine wreath, I only placed the glue on strategic points, there is some movement and dimension, and then added the three birds which I had layered and glued together.

I did play with placing them down individually, arranged around the wreath, but it looked a little off, so I decided on this way.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Color Throwdownpink, sage green, lavender, blue
