Cardz 4 Galz – CASE your wardrobe

A new challenge is starting at Cardz 4 Galz – and from the title you may get our topic this time – CASE an item or your wardrobe. Use an item of your clothing and use it as your inspiration.

Here is my card:

Here is my item of clothing:

Yes – I used polka dots………….

I began by stamping the flowers and stems from Altenew ‘Angelique Motifs’ – mixing the colours a round a little – I do like to use colours not ordinarily seen with particular flowers!

I then used the Avery Elle ‘Polka Dot Plate’ die and some dark blue shiny card stock.

The sentiment is also from Altenew, from the ‘Wild Flora’ stamp set.

I hope you can come along and join us. I’d love to see your creations in our gallery, and to see what item of your wardrobe you took inspiration from.

Hi everyone. The weather has certainly changed today from the past week. It is now raining and 15 degrees – whereas in the week it registered up to 36 degrees – phew it was hot! But it was gorgeous weather, and even though hot – I loved it – as long as I could get cool somewhere.

Today was perfect crafting weather, and I made a card for a couple of challenges:

I first die cut the Altenew ‘Spring Meadow‘ cover die out of a light blue card stock, then cut it again out of a darker blue card – called ‘velvet’ card as a satin but shiny finish.

I cut the dark blue into a rectangle, placed on a light blue card base, and then inlaid some of the shiny blue into the light blue. I did remember to cut the die with double-sided sticky sheets, which made this job so much easier.

The flower is from Altenew ‘Angelique Motifs’ and stamped using Altenew inks, as was the floral stem element.

The sentiment is from Stamps By Me, and all placed together as you see.

Angelique Motifs

Hi there. I don’t know where time goes, but since I reduced my hours to three days a week, I seem to run out of time…………I have no clue what I spend my time doing, but it certainly isn’t crafting. Hopefully, this Easter weekend I can make some cards to share with you.

Here is a card based on the colours from the current challenge at Color Throwdown:

I took the Altenew ‘Angelique Motifs’ and stamped the leaves in blue inks onto some Crafters Companion Neenah card. The gaps I filled-in with the leaves also from that stamp set.

I took some orange inks for the flowers, and instead of stamping the centres, I coloured them with yellow Copics. I tried doing the flowers completely stamping, but always seemed to get the centre parts off-set – so out came the Copics.

The frame is from Reverse Confetti and raised with foam, and the flowers stuck both inside and outside of the frame just for added interest.

The sentiment is from the new stamps from Thirsty Brush and Co – stamped the word, and die cut with the matching dies. Now that sentiment die has an inner and an outer – thinking about belly buttons anyone? – but I kept the two layers together so the word stands out a little more.

I am certainly going to spend some time with this stamp collection, so I am afraid there will be some floral cards coming your way – it may be water-colouring, it may be Copic colouring – or even ink smooshing……maybe all of them!

I hope you have a great Easter weekend, and I hope to see you again soon. 🙂

Angelique Happy Day

Hi everyone. I have a card to share which looks simple, but took me quite a while to decide on my design:

I combined a couple of challenges for inspiration. The colour scheme is from the current challenge at Less Is More, to use navy and yellow, and the also the current Flower Challenge, to use my latest stamps and dies.

I bought this Altenew Angelique Motifs stamp and die set from Seven Hills Crafts, and stamped all the images, which included the flowers, stems, and separate leaves. I was going to use the most gorgeous stems for this card, but went with the flower itself, and added some of the individual leaves as you see here.

The yellow stripes are a cut down piece of card using Concord and 9th Sketched Stripes Background stamp, and Catherine Pooler Limoncello ink. I am sure I will be using this stamp set again in the near future, and like how the blues came out with this flower.

The sentiment is from a Uniko stamp set, and I like how this sentiment can be used for many different occasions, especially when you need a card for no special reason in particular – a just because card.

I was looking through my Uniko stash, as Bev has some fabulous sentiments and stamp sets, and currently has a brand new release going on for the company’s 7th birthday.

And – yes – I bought it all! Couldn’t resist! Her design team really have come up with some brilliant cards………..

Now, I know this is an early posting, and not a scheduled posting either – just up early, getting ready for work, and decided to put this together now instead of later today.

Isn’t crafting fabulous that way? Any time, any place, anywhere……!!

🙂 🙂
