Embossing, Freebie, and Gold

Hello – a new challenge is beginning at ABC Christmas Challenge, and this time the letters are – can you guess? – E for Embossing, F for Freebie, G for Gold. The Freebie might be a little confusing, but we want to see anything you received as a free gift – that could be a free digital image, a free stamp from a magazine, a free embossing folder – anything you received that was a free gift. Here is my take on the themes:

I stamped the image in Gina K Amalgam ink, then did some simple Copic colouring, colouring only part of the small images. The hanging heart is added from the same collection of free stamps and actually comes joined to another stamp – but I did some stamp surgery and cut them apart.

I liked how the image looked, I made another card which incorporated all three themes at once:

And this time I changed the hanging heart to the hanging star – just because I could!

I hope you can come and join us in this challenge. The Design Team has come up with some amazing inspiration – I hope you can go and check them out.

Bunny in the clouds

Hello everyone. I have another card to share, using of my current favourite techniques – of CAS + stamping + Copic colouring. I seem to be going from CAS to ‘chucking’ everything at a project – one or the other other with no in-betweenies:

I began by thinking I wanted the cute little bunny and balloon in the clouds, so I used a couple of previous Clearly Besotted stamps – names on the side-bar. I stamped the bunny, sentiment and balloon, masked off the bunny and balloon, then stamped the rainbow and clouds.

The clouds didn’t come far enough down for me, so I took a black art-liner pen and drew some more – actually a lot more – but I wanted the bunny to be well within the clouds.

Once stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink, I coloured with my Copics, trying to match the colours for one of the challenges below, and doing some simple grey shading on the bunny, no shading and just the four colours on the rainbow, and mixed some of them together on the balloon.

I needed to blend a little on the balloon – the blues and green didn’t really want to mix – but I took my colour-less blender and tried that way – it kinda worked……..I see a metallic balloon now – mutli-coloured!

I die-cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp ‘A7 Thin Frames’ to get the centre panel, then the thin frame was coloured in the green Copic and stuck back down around the panel.

And do you know – the new release from Clearly Besotted landed on my mat whilst I was putting this card together……maybe more playing later today…… :)

Hello Little One

Hello once again. I said yesterday I was have a craft-a-thon – well it continues…. Here is a card I made today:

I was inspired to use this Mama Elephant stamp set again – it came to mind straight away for a few challenges.

I stamped the images onto Make-it colour blending card stock with Gina K Amalgam ink, then coloured with Copics, trying to match the colours for one of the challenges.

Looking at the colour again – I have no idea why I coloured the little boy in the pink instead of the blue……….no idea. Oh well…..!! At least he’s got a blue scarf…….. :)

The sentiment is from Heffy Doodle, as is the cloud speech bubble.

Very clean and simple but I think quite effective.

Christmas Corners

Hello again – some more time in my craft room this morning, I decided I wanted to colour some images, so broke out my new Clearly Besotted stamp set ‘Christmas Corners‘ and set to it.

Here is my creation:

I stamped the images in Gina K amalgam ink, chose some colours:

and once coloured cut out using my Scan’n’cut – always a little nervous doing this as still getting to grips with that machine, and always wonder if it’s going to miss an outline or something – in this case it was perfect.

I stamped the sentiment on the card base, then adhered my mouse and baubles images, and attached to a 7×5 inch card base – my go-to size of card.

I also added some Ranger ‘Glossy Accents‘ to the lights, and some white gel pen for highlights, then let it dry before I stood it up to take a photo.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Clean and Simple on Sunday CAS big sentiment or word

What’s up chicken butt?

Hi there. I have a clean and simple card to share today – though it did take me a little while to colour – trying to use what I learnt on my Copic class the other week – but not over-thinking.

I actually bought this stamp at the pop-up shop during the break in colouring, and have been waiting for an opportunity to ‘crack it open‘ – as they say……….and then the CASology challenge came up with the code word of ‘feather’ ………

After stamping in Gina K amalgam ink, I coloured with Copics. I actually used some of the colour ideas given for the Copic class. I even ‘grounded’ my image – can you see? That is something I hadn’t done before the class…………..maybe the grey is too light – I’ll keep trying……

Well Hello……

Hello once again. I have another card to share today, using a new stamp bought at the Doncaster craft show last week:

I just fell in love with this stamp set – cute and quirky. I chose this stamp as I thought just laying there, finger swirling in the puddle – cute. There are some great sentiments on there too – I am sure you will be seeing them in the future…

The image was stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured – very basically – with Copics, to match the colour challenge. To follow the sketch challenge, the two outer bands were pieces of card coloured with the same light blue copic, and die cut with Lawn Fawn ‘Stitched Simple Wavy Borders‘.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Holiday Cheer

Hi again. I hope you are doing well. I have a Christmas card for you today for the new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. This challenge is always ‘anything goes’, and I hope you join us to have that stash ready for later in the year.

Here is my card:

I used a stamp set from Gerda Steiner designs I received when Justin Hovey was doing her de-stash sale. After stamping with Gina K amalgam ink, I coloured with Copics – very simple colouring, no shading, as this card stock isn’t suitable for blending, and I didn’t want white – but a cream/off white card for this.

I added the two little birdies and kept them in the same colours as already used. I think they look a little upset about being sat on the reindeer’s antlers….don’t you?

The frames are from Reverse Confetti. I did think about raising one of the frames, but kept it quite simple in the end, letting the images speak for themselves.

The Design Team have some amazing projects for you to help inspire you, and I hope you are able to join us for the next couple of weeks. I look forward to seeing your creations.
