Elephant Birthday

Hi there. There is anew challenge beginning at The Alphabet Challenge. This time I am the host and have chosen the theme for the letter ‘E’ as being ‘Earthbound Animals’. Here is my card:

I use the ‘Color Layering Elephant’ stamp set from Hero Arts to produce this quite CAS card – the splash of rainbow colour as a layer making it quite playful I think.

The sentiments are both from the same stamp set, and I like the scripty look to these.

I hope you can come and join us for this challenge – there is some fabulous inspiration makes from the Design Team and you have until the 18th June to share your creations.

I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Cardz4Galz – more than one fold

Hello there. I have a bright card to share today for the new challenge beginning at Cardz 4 Galz. This time we want to see your girlie cards with more than one score/fold. Here is my card:

After creating the card base I looked to use a large image for the rectangle on the front. I used the Tracey Hey Designs ‘catitude’ stamp set, and coloured the lion image with Copics – some minor shading, but not too much.

I then looked through my paper stash to fins some colours to match, and found a selection of purple and oranges which seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

These were measured and cut using my Cutterpillar, then stuck down.

When I closed the card it looked a little bare to me, so I also added some scalloped purple borders using a die set from Lawn Fawn – which I think kinda matched the shape of the mane.

I hope you can come and join us in our challenge and I hope to see you in our gallery. xx

Christmas Love and Movies

Hi there. A new challenge has begun at ABC Christmas Challenge. The letters this time are ‘L’ and ‘M’ – and we want to see Love and Movies with your Christmas creations. Here are my cards:

‘L’ for Love

‘M’ for Movies:

The first card was quite simple and easy to make, using an MFT Stamps Die-namics and two pieces of patterned paper.

The second card took a little more time, mainly the colouring part of it. I didn’t know what to make for the ‘M’ for Movies part of it, and spent some time searching the tinterweb for Christmas movies…..when I saw the ‘Elf’ movie – though I haven’t seen it – I remembered this stamp set from MFT.

The image was stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured with Copics, then die-cut with MFT ‘Wonky Squares‘.

I have no idea where the patterned paper came from but I felt the colours and theme matched the little elfies, and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I hope you can join us and I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery. xx

Stuffed Stockings

Hello there. There is a new challenge beginning at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme is always anything goes as long as it’s Christmas related. Here is my card:

I used the Concord & 9th ‘Stocking Stuffers’ stamp and die set. The stockings and ‘stuffing’ bits were stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured with Copics. After die-cutting with the matching die set, I added a glittery silver cuff to the top of each sock – but didn’t add the heel and toe pieces as I didn’t want to take away from the colours and colouring.

As I used a piece of patterned paper for the background which had some dots – I added some to my images of the stockings, and some ‘Stickles’ glitter to parts of it too.

There were a few stamps and dies in the set which I had no clue what to do with – nor what they were. So I went and consulted the You Tube oracle – and found that there was a die to add the little ‘pull me‘ tag – and that you could also add a sentiment to pull which goes behind a stocking………….well – I had to have a go, didn’t I?

Here is the result:

I am loving this stamp and die set – I can see me using this for more cards. The most time-consuming was the colouring – but I’m getting into that now. I keep trying, I keep playing – and even though colouring is a means to an end – I’m liking it a little more…….!

I do hope you can come and join us for this challenge – get your stash ready for the end of the year. There is some fabulous inspiration from the Design Team – I encourage you to go and check them out. xx
