ABC Christmas Challenge – E, F and/or G

Hello. ABC Christmas Challenge has reached these three letters and the themes are ‘E’ for Embossing, ‘F’ for Fussy and Fancy, and/or ‘G’ for Glitter. Carol is hosting this time round. Here is my card:

All that glitter and shine made it difficult to photograph – but at least they show just how glittery and shiny the card is…..

I used a piece of alcohol paper previously created and die cut with a wonky stitched square, glued that to a piece of glitter card stock – I think it may be Stampin Up, but may even be Crafters Companion – no clue!

Matted onto a purple layer – there is some purple in that alcohol background which I wanted to match – and then onto a square card base.

The snowflake was die cut with the same glitter card – in fact I ‘gutted’ the square layer – saves on card stock – waste not, want not.

I hope you can come and join us with your Christmas Creations following one or more of the three themes. xx

Alphabet Challenge – Old Folk

Hi there. A new challenge has begun at The Alphabet Challenge. We have reached the letter ‘O’ – and Dawn has chosen the theme of ‘Old Folk’.

Here is my card:

Aren’t these couple of ladies looking like they’re having fun? The image is from Jan’s Digis, manipulated a little in ‘Word’, adding the sentiment – playing with the layout and layering options – then printed, coloured with Copics, and die cut with MFT ‘Wonky Squares’ – just for a little more craziness…….

When I saw this digi stamp months ago, it reminded me of my bestie. We have always said we would be old and grey and still partying…..just like these two ladies here.

Just to say – we are already grey – though the hairdressers we have do a marvellous job 🙂 :)……….and the ‘old’ bit? Well – it’s a frame of mind and not birth years I find….though sometimes I definitely feel older than my years.

Anyhoo – I hope you can come and join us for this challenge – I can hardly wait to see your creations using this theme – I am sure there are going to be some laughs along the way……………. xx

Christmas Love and Movies

Hi there. A new challenge has begun at ABC Christmas Challenge. The letters this time are ‘L’ and ‘M’ – and we want to see Love and Movies with your Christmas creations. Here are my cards:

‘L’ for Love

‘M’ for Movies:

The first card was quite simple and easy to make, using an MFT Stamps Die-namics and two pieces of patterned paper.

The second card took a little more time, mainly the colouring part of it. I didn’t know what to make for the ‘M’ for Movies part of it, and spent some time searching the tinterweb for Christmas movies…..when I saw the ‘Elf’ movie – though I haven’t seen it – I remembered this stamp set from MFT.

The image was stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured with Copics, then die-cut with MFT ‘Wonky Squares‘.

I have no idea where the patterned paper came from but I felt the colours and theme matched the little elfies, and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I hope you can join us and I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery. xx

Water-colour sunflower

Hi there. I have a card to share with you using a clean and simple design and layout, and also using my Altenew water-colours.

I stamped and heat embossed the flower outline, then took yellow first and sketchy water-coloured the petals, then added a darker yellow once dry, another orange, then the lighter yellow again.

I am exploring all different techniques with water-colouring, and find I like this flicking and sketchy look when doing flowers. I even like this look when using the Altenew Artist Markers too. I coloured the centre is a couple of the brown/dark grey colours, and added the black artist marker dots after it was all dry.

I did think about fussy-cutting the flower out, but instead went for the MFT wonky squares

The sentiment is from a stamp set from paper Artsy.
