Elves, For Tree and Garland

A new challenge has started at ABC Christmas Challenge. We have reached the letters E, F and G – and we want to see your Christmas creations with the following themes:

E for Elves, F for Fir Tree, and G for Garland.

Here are my makes:

E for Elves
F for Fir Tree
G for Garland

The MFT ‘Christmas sElfies’ was stamped, coloured with Copics, and the square die-cut with a stitched square from Sue Wilson. Patterned paper adhered to a card base, and the sentiment strip raised with 3D foam – trying to keep the squares and lines etc in alignment – I think I did a pretty good job at that.

The second card using the Hero Arts stamp – an old one I don’t think I’ve actually used yet – stamped using Altenew Obsidian black ink direct onto the card base. I did use my Misti, and it took about three stampings to get a solid image. I liked the effect so much I stamped it again using a couple of Concord & 9th inks too. The sentiment is from my stash – no idea where it came from – and I even added a plain white Tim Holtz deer – just because I could, really…….

The third card is using a stamp and die set from Uniko. The leaves of the garland are stamped directly onto the card base, with the holly leaves, pine cones, and berries also glued down. Not too much dimension. I struggled with an appropriate sentiment on this card, and in the end left it without one – I’ll probably stamp one inside when the time comes.

It appears these three Christmas themes inspired me to create for all three letters – I must have had a mojo lightning strike that day!

I hope you can come and join us – please remember the letters have themes that we have chosen, and we would appreciate your Christmas creations adhering to those themes. I hope to see you in the gallery. xx

Christmas Love and Movies

Hi there. A new challenge has begun at ABC Christmas Challenge. The letters this time are ‘L’ and ‘M’ – and we want to see Love and Movies with your Christmas creations. Here are my cards:

‘L’ for Love

‘M’ for Movies:

The first card was quite simple and easy to make, using an MFT Stamps Die-namics and two pieces of patterned paper.

The second card took a little more time, mainly the colouring part of it. I didn’t know what to make for the ‘M’ for Movies part of it, and spent some time searching the tinterweb for Christmas movies…..when I saw the ‘Elf’ movie – though I haven’t seen it – I remembered this stamp set from MFT.

The image was stamped with Gina K Amalgam ink and coloured with Copics, then die-cut with MFT ‘Wonky Squares‘.

I have no idea where the patterned paper came from but I felt the colours and theme matched the little elfies, and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I hope you can join us and I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery. xx

ABC Christmas H and I

Hello. It is time for a new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge – and it’s my turn to host.

The theme letters this time are ‘H’ for Hand Drawn, and ‘I’ for Inside. I have put a couple of prizes up for this challenge.

The first prize is for my Top Pick and is Concord and 9th ‘Christmas Florals’ stamp set:

And the second prize will be awarded randomly – I shall use a random number generator – so everyone is in with a chance of winning the following stamp and matching die set from Thirsty Brush and Co, ‘Under The Mistletoe’:

I made a card for each letter – well – I made two cards for the first – ‘H’ for hand drawn, as I liked drawing these little baubles on a string so much. White gel pen to colour them:

The first sentiment is from Altenew, and the second sentiment if from a freebie stamp set – my handwriting just won’t cut it! Trust me – I tried – and had to bin a card or two.

My card for ‘I’ for Inside (a frame)is:

I was going to create something special on the inside of a card – but I ‘found‘ this MFT stamp set and decided to put my bear ‘inside’ a frame……..the bear and the colouring were the easy part – it was sorting out the frame and the layers and the position on the card……phew! It took some thinking about, believe it or not.

Anyhoo – I hope you can come and join us in this challenge – and be in with a chance of winning one of the two prizes – and badges for your blog, or course.

There is some fabulous inspiration from our Design Team – I look forward to seeing what you create – and good luck for the prize winning! xx
