Purple and Grey Daffodils

Hi there. I have a couple of cards to share today – both made with the same stamp set – yet completely different looks:

I used the Altenew ‘Build-a-flower Daffodils‘ stamp set, but this time went for purple daffodils. I know – artistic licence anyone?

For the first purple card, I stamped the outline, then the darker two layers in purple – I didn’t stamp the base colour layer. The leaves are from another Altnew stamp set – I wanted two layer leaves, and not daffodil stems, as I knew I wanted to create a whole bunch of flowers bunched together.

Once stamped and die cut with the matching dies, I arranged as you see.

The second card is where I stamped the outline of the daffodils, and one of the detail layers to create a background, with a couple of the little daffodil centres stamped to fill any gaps – all in shades of grey. The sentiment is also from Altenew – white heat embossed on a black strip.

Flower-Butterfly-Vase

Hello again. I am delighted and honoured to be the Guest Designer for the new challenge beginning at All Fun Challenges.

For this challenge – the theme is always ‘anything goes’ and we were given a choice of images from Bugaboo. I chose this gorgeous ‘Flower Butterfly Vase’ digital image.

Here is my card:

I began by printing out the image onto ‘Make It Colour Blending card’, then picked colours of Copics………several greens, several blues, some pinks, and a couple of reds – not forgetting the grey for the shadow.

The blue patterned paper underneath the panel is a cut-down piece from Craft Box UK – and I even added a blue then grey Copic edge to it to try to match to the colours I had already used on the image.

The little sentiment tag is from a package of tags – I have no clue where they came from, and no clue how long I’ve had them – I found them during my Covid-19 lock-down ‘tidying’.

Well – I say tidying – but I then find things I haven’t seen for ages, or even forgot I had – and then of course you have to create something then and there – don’t you? Or is it just me……………..?

I’d love to see your creations for this challenge – I look forward to seeing you there. xx

Sending Sunshine and Smiles…

Hi there. I have a card to share to day using some of the new release stamp sets from Clearly Besotted:

I stamped the floral scene twice along the bottom of a piece of Make It Colour Blending Card, and stamped the cute little plushie with the flower onto another piece.

I coloured the images using Copics – very simple, very little shading, then added some gold gel dots to some of the flowers – I tried to catch that in the bottom photo – and some darker dots on the other flowers.

The plushie image die–cut with two nesting circle dies as you see, and the sentiment from the same plushie stamp set attached.

The Alphabet Challenge – checks

Hello there. There is an new challenge beginning at The Alphabet Challenge. We are the letter ‘C’ – and we want to see your checks – whether it be papers or stamps – as long as we can see the checks – you’re good.

Here is my card:

I liked these flowers and the background so much – I made another colour variation:

This is the time the Bluebells are flowering – we have quite a covering around where we live, therefore, I used the Altenew ‘Build-a-Flower Bellflower’ stamp and die set to create the flowers on this card.

The checked background is the Concord & 9th ‘Gingham Background’ stamp. The dotted lines in the stamp set are separate – and added as you see.

The sentiment is also from Altenew,

I hope you can come and join us – I’d love to see your ‘checks‘ creations in our gallery. xx

Weirdo Birthday

Hello once again. I have a CAS birthday card to share as there is a new challenge beginning at Cardz 4 Galz – the theme this time is ‘Birthday’:

This little cutie is from Tracey Hey Designs, stamped in Gina K Amalgam ink, then coloured with Copics. I also added some white gel pen dots for added interest.

The ‘weird’ sentiment is from the same stamp set, and the birthday sentiment from somewhere else – I forget where! :)

I hope you can come and join us in our ‘Birthday’ theme, and I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Three Kings – ABC Christmas Challenge

Hi there. A new challenge has begun at ABC Christmas Challenge, and this time we want to see ‘J’ for Joy, and/or ‘K’ for Kings. Here is my card:

I used the three kings and the camel image from Digi Doodle Studios and coloured with Copics, then cutting out using my Scan’n’cut – heart pounding during the cutting just in case it got messed up………….but it didn’t! Thank goodness – after all that colouring!

The background is several blue Distress Oxides blended then splashed with Gansai Tambi silver shiny silver paint.

The ‘sand banks’ were cut from some brown/Kraft card-stock using Lawn Fawn dies, and all attached with either wet glue or dimensionals.

I hope you can come and join us for this challenge, and there is a prize for the top pick by Dorte. xx

Festive Wreath

Hello there – I have a Christmas card to share as there is a new challenge beginning at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme – as always – is anything goes Christmas or festive related:

I used a digital stamp from Graciellie Design, printed onto Make-It Colour blending card, and coloured with Copics. I went for a sketchy Copic colouring, as I find this image lends itself perfectly to this.

I die cut the image with a Sue Wilson stitched circle die set, matted a darker green layer, then sued Sue Wilson stitched squares for two more layers of matting.

The corner dies are from Tattered Lace – I have had these sets for years and years – and found them again during another ‘tidying’ session…….

The die-cut sentiment is also from Tattered Lace – part of my ‘find’ and stuck down after die-cutting with a backing of double-sided tape.

I hope you can come and join us, and get your Christmas stash well and truly started. xx

Thinking of You…..

Hello there. I have a card to share using a brand of stamps I haven’t used for quite a while, and in fact some of the stamps I haven’t used at all before today:

I used a couple of the Card-io stamp sets to create this card….

I started by masking one corner of a piece of Canson Mixed Media card-stock – I find this blends inks quite nicely. Once masked, I used an Altenew ink set and blended the Cotton Candy with my blending brushes, and added some Rich Razzleberry to darken the corner a little.

Using Rich Razzleberry again, I stamped the thorny wreaths, then a vine/leaf branch. The bird cage is stamped with Cotton Candy, then I tried to ink the edges of the birdcage with the Rich Razzleberry to give some shading to the cage.

The bird in the cage stamped with Rich Razzleberry, another in Cotton Candy, and another in Peach Perfect.

I also sued some leaf stamps and stamped them in the lighter two colours around the thorny wreath.

The sentiment is from a stamp set from The Ton – out on my desk as creating a floral card too………….maybe for tomorrow.

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Have a Great Day….

Hello everyone. I have a CAS die-cutting card today:

Even though it looks CAS – it took me a little while to get the triangle right. Funny how what seems like the simplest things take the most time, isn’t it?

On a white card base, I layered a piece of glossy black card – very, very difficult to get that to come through on the photos – but it is a matt kind of glossy – not too shiny………

The white triangles are die cut from an old, old, old Spellbinders set – it says 2013 on the back of the packet!

Getting the angles of these two triangles on the card was the hardest part – fiddling and moving, then cutting away part of the top triangle….

The sentiment is from a piece of card with lots of sentiments on from Craft Box UK.

I’m off to do some layering stamping for another challenge – if I can line ’em up properly, that is…………

I smile when I think of you..

Hi there. Another CAS card design for today:

I tried to capture the shimmer and shine on the leaves, and the Lumi spray.

I took a black piece of card and stenciled some leaves using Indigo Blu ‘thick slap-it-on’ and let it dry.

I then sprayed – using short and sharp sprays, and then some longer finer mist spray – to try and get some variation in the drips and drops. The ‘slap-it-on’ resisted the spray – for the most part – leaving a black silhouette of the leaves.

Whilst this was drying, I used the Reverse Confetti cover panel to create the window, and taped the square black and green image underneath – adding the whole to a white card base.
