Beautiful Heart Birthday

Hello. I have a card to share inspired by several challenges.

I used Altenew ‘Beautiful Heart‘ stamp and matching die set. I stamped the outline in a grey ink, and both layers of the flower, but only the outline and detail layer of the leaves – not the main base layer. I wanted there to be quite a bit of white on this card, to ensure the colours stood out.

The sentiment is also from Altenew and stamped directly onto the base card.

I ‘found’ this stamp set again whilst putting my stash into Color My Life organisation app – I am ‘finding’ quite a bit of stuff to use again. Not necessarily that I had forgotten they were there – but seeing them again and going through them again makes me use my older stash – not a bad thing. But – it doesn’t mean I don’t buy new stuff………………..

Peaceful Scene

Hi there. I have a CAS card to share today. Here is the card:

I used an image from a Funky Fossil stamp set called ‘Adventure’ , and a little masking of the stamp.

I first masked the bottom half of the stamp – the water – then inked the trees – and remembered to remove the masking tape (!!) before stamping. Then I masked the top half of the stamp, inked the top half – again removing the masking paper – then stamped the bottom half.

I had to ink the stamp a couple of times – I think my ink pads are getting a little dry………….but they are old. I may have to see of they have been retired or see if they still sell the re-inkers.

I stamped the bird, then die cut the image using a square off-set to make a triangle.

I don’t have many washi tapes, but after using my one and only washi tape as a DT card and struggling a few months ago – I ordered some more. This washi is quite wide, so I cut three strips down the length…..my goodness that stuff is sticky! I ended up with bits all over the place initially….

Then I stuck three pieces down along the edge of the card, overlapping a little. The washi has images of the world, an old fashioned map, which I thought suited the stamp set and image quite well.

I then turned to the sentiment – I know, it seems it’s always the last for me to stamp…..but if I use my Misti it seems to work each time. Thank goodness. Just imagine if I messed the sentiment stamping and the card had to be binned – or at least have an extra banner placed over the mess……

Anyhoo – it stamped correctly!

There are few adventure sentiments in this set, about exploring, but with the current global situation – I went for one which meant you didn’t really have to leave home – maybe?

Fusion Regal Beauty

Hello once again. I have a card to share today which I made over the weekend – a craftathon weekend for me:

The colours and layout are based on the current challenge at the Fusion Card Challenge:

The colours in the photo were greys and a touch of brown, so I used those colours to stamp the flowers from Altenew ‘Regal Beauty‘ and a combination of their grey and browns inks.

I used the sketch layout to arrange the flower and leaves to mimic the semi-circle, using a lot of the leaves and only one flower, once I had cut them out using the matching die set.

The sentiment is from Thirsty Brush and Co, heat embossed on white onto a grey piece of card, and the ends of the sentiment piece cut using the Heffy Doodle ‘More Strips of Ease‘ die set to create the banner look. I always seem to go wonky when I cut those banners free-hand, so this die set and those small triangles are just great for this.

White Wild Rose

I have another card to share today as I had a few left-over white roses die cut from Altenew ‘Wild Rose 3D die set‘, and took the opportunity to make a card inspired by the colours at Color Throwdown:

I die cut the flowers and leaves out of white card stock, with double-sided sticky tape of each layer, but inserting a mint coloured layer into the rose.

The background is the Altenew ‘Leaf Frame Cover Die‘ and cut out of a pink and a lavender card. I used the fall-outs of the pink, and jig-sawed into the lavender. I didn’t want too much dimension on the background, as the flowers and leaves were enough.

Another variation using the opposite ‘jig-saw’ pieces:

The colours to be used were pink, aqua, lavender, and mint……….which I thought looked quite muted and gentle, which is why I did the white flower and leaves.

I hope you’re having a good day, and I’ll see you again soon. 🙂

Stitched Blooms

Hi there. I created another card yesterday, and waited for today to try and get some natural light to take the photo – there is plenty of light – but outside is sooooo windy that I daren’t take the card out for the photo.

Here it is anyway:

I used the newly purchased – and restocked at Seven Hills Crafts – MFT ‘Stitched Blooms‘. I have been waiting for these to come back in, and when I received the email to say there were in stock – off I went to order them (and some other stuff) 🙂 🙂 and I’m not disappointed in them.

I die cut the whole lot out of white card stock, then coloured with my Copics. The colours used were for entry into the current Color Throwdown Challenge – orange, light blue, brown – and the layout is for the current MFT Sketch Challenge.

A clean and simple card, which actually took a lot of preparation – die-cutting, colouring, sticking the flowers together……and yet it looks so simple……I am sure to be crafting over the weekend, so I will catch you at some point, I’m sure.

Altenew Perfectly Perfect stamp set

Hello again everyone. I have been making a card to enter a colour challenge and a sketch challenge:

20180712_17290520180712_172911

I knew I wanted to use the colours from Color Throwdown and use flowers, and I knew I wanted to base the layout on the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches – but which flower stamp set just kept me thinking and over-thinking…..I couldn’t decide.

Then – Mr Postie arrived…..with a delivery from Seven Hills Crafts…..this stamp set was inside the package……. I just had to use it straight away.

I stamped the images onto water-colour card, in a grey from Stampin Up, then stamped again with an embossing pad and heat set with clear. I then coloured with my Zigs using a couple of yellows, and a couple of greys  to tie-in with the colours from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I die-cut the rectangle out of Kraft card with my stitched wonky rectangle from MFT, stuck that onto a white card base, and glued my flowers and leaves down with 3D glue. I only put the glue in the centre of each flower, as I was playing with the sentiment and leaves to decide where I wanted them to go, so no pads near the edges gave me more lee-way. I like to put leaves and flowers on top and underneath other flowers, as I think it adds more interest and dimension.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, white heat embossed, and glued in a jaunty angle to match the sketch. I think it’s quite ironic that the stamp set is called ‘Perfectly Perfect‘ and the sentiment is wonky. (Maybe it’s my sense of humour! 🙂

As mentioned, I shall be entering into:

Color Throwdown – grey, yellow, kraft, white
