Pink Peaceful Wreath

Hello. Here is my card for the new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge, starting from the beginning of the alphabet again, and we want to see your Christmas creations ‘A’ for Advent and/or ‘B’ for Bells. Helen is the host this time:

Using Altenew ‘Bells and Bows’ to create the hanging bell, and ‘Peaceful Wreath‘, on the background of the ‘Pallet Background’ stamp. The word ‘peace’ die cut several times and the last layer being some pink glimmer card from Stampin Up, with ‘Infinity Wood Frame‘ dies from Hero Arts.

Once I had the dimensions right, this card came together quite quickly.

I hope you can come and join us and make an early start on your Christmas crafting – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

2 CAS cards

Hello. I have two cards to share today – both CAS – in appearance if not in making:

The first card is using the gorgeous Altenew ‘Bountiful Branch’ layering stamp set – thank goodness for my Misti! This is an old but loved stamp set, I have used a couple of times before – but maybe not this year, actually – I’ll have to have a look back…….

I was inspired to make a one layer card, stamping the branch slightly off the edge, and making the sentiment up from several in the Altenew ‘Peaceful Wreath’ stamp set.

The second card was a little more of a challenge – I tend to smudge cards when I try and do some ink vlending on them – but this worked quite well.

I took the card base, masked off most of it to leave the top part out and ready to ink blend using my Distress Ink ‘Speckled Egg’ – I chose this colour for a cool bluey kinda greeny background behind my glittery snowflake die cuts.

These snowflakes are from Uniko – maybe a couple of years old – and die cut out of some low shed glitter card stock. I decided the leave in the middle star, and arranged them as you see.

I did toy with different shaped and sized snowflakes, but in the end went with the same – and don’t the perfectly fit the edge of the card? Who knows – maybe Bev from Uniko planned it that way – I wouldn’t be surprised……

The sentiment is stamped in Distress Oxide ‘Speckled Egg‘ – the Distress ink was a little too ‘distressed’ looking for me. Yes – I bought the whole release of that colour – full set syndrome……

Blue Holly Wreath

Hello everyone. There is a new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge beginning today. The theme – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas. This includes cards, boxed, scrapbook pages….

Here is my card:

I took the Altenew ‘Peaceful Wreath‘ and stamped all the images using the Altenew ink set ‘Deep Blue Seas‘, but only stamped the first layer, than embossed with silver detail embossing powder the second layers.

There are, therefore, four colours of the individual holly leaves, each with silver embossing. I arranged the two half-wreaths, and filled in the gaps and added the individual leaves around the outside as you see.

The white embossed panel is from a Sue Wilson embossing folder, layered onto a blue shiny card. I ‘gutted’ the blue piece of card with the ‘peace’ word die, creating a five layered sentiment.

The Design Team have created some fabulous inspiration for this challenge, and I hope you can come and join us.

Wreath and bells

Hello everyone. I have spent some time crafting this weekend and making some Christmas cards ready for charity. Also – of course – having some fun…..

20181020_20374320181020_20375020181020_203725

This card was inspired by the current challenge at Color Throwdown – to use Green, Kraft, and white.

It turned out to be a completely Altenew card – except for the sentiment – using an older stamp and die set, and a couple of new ones.

I used Altenew inks, and changed the greens a little for the second card. I didn’t add all the detail to the bells, quite liking the simplicity of them as they are. I was toying with letting the bells dangle on some string or such like, but added them as you see instead.

The sentiment is from a new stamp set I have yet to play with from Clearly Besotted ‘Hang Around‘ and has baubles and bows. I thought the French sentiment suited the card for some reason – so I went with it.

I have decided that I will be making several of each Christmas card ready for the charity event, I’m probably going to stick with the more clean and simple card. I say that a lot – then go and make things a little more complicated.

Anyway – it’s all about enjoying yourself, isn’t it?

Have a great day – catch you later. 🙂
