Pink Peaceful Wreath

Hello. Here is my card for the new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge, starting from the beginning of the alphabet again, and we want to see your Christmas creations ‘A’ for Advent and/or ‘B’ for Bells. Helen is the host this time:

Using Altenew ‘Bells and Bows’ to create the hanging bell, and ‘Peaceful Wreath‘, on the background of the ‘Pallet Background’ stamp. The word ‘peace’ die cut several times and the last layer being some pink glimmer card from Stampin Up, with ‘Infinity Wood Frame‘ dies from Hero Arts.

Once I had the dimensions right, this card came together quite quickly.

I hope you can come and join us and make an early start on your Christmas crafting – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Black and Blingy Birthday

Hello there. I am hosting the new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and I chose the theme of ‘Black and Blingy‘. I am sure there are some ideas rolling around in your head to be able to join us in this challenge.

Here is my card:

I knew I wanted some black foliage, and turned to a Tattered Lace die – A Little Bit Ditsy – and die cut this out of black glimmer card stock from Stampin Up.

That in itself was a challenge! Getting all those little details to come out of that card – slowly, slowly peeling it out – it took some doing. despite using my Gemini Junior, and cutting it s few times – I almost gave up!

I’m glad I persevered – and even cut two of them!

The butterfly is from Spellbinders, and I took the decision to add some pink glittery card underneath the black butterfly – I like the pop of colour.

The sentiment is from a Sue Wilson set which started out as ‘Happy Birthday to You’ – but I trimmed it down as you see.

All the card – except the base card – is glimmer card from Stampin Up – no stamping on this card at all – just die cuts.

Sticking items onto glimmer card is also a challenge – so once I had used some glue I turned again to me Tonic Nuvo drops and added some black dots strategically – to enable to some added dimension, but also to act as glue to keep those flourishes down on the card.

I hope you can come and join us – I can’t wait to see your take on the black and bling theme. xx

Sparkling Polar Bears

Hi there everyone. There is a new challenge starting at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge . The theme this time is – anything goes as long as it’s Christmas.

I hope you can come and play along with us, and get your stash ready for the end of the year. There is some fabulous inspiration from the Design team, and here is my card:

?

I started by die cutting the polar bear the baby using Creative Expressions ‘Paper Cuts 3D collection – Polar Bear‘. I didn’t use the 3D elements to stand the baby in front of the parent, but instead used some glittery silver twine – as though the baby is being pulled along on the sled.

I added white glitter card behind the animal die-cuts, and also added the red glittery scarf and hat.

This card is large – I wanted a narrow and long card, so this a A4 sheet creased length-wise.

I masked the middle section of the card and ink-blended the two blue panels with Distress Oxides, then splashed some water for added interest.

The black eyes are Nuvo drops……and I added them when the card was completed and put together – gosh my heart was in my mouth that the container didn’t do a Nuvo-drop burp on me!!!!! 🙂 🙂

I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery.

Glittery Pink Fox

Hi there. There is a new challenge beginning at Cardz 4 Galz and the theme this time is ‘Fox – foxy ladies, or foxes – your choice‘. I took the opportunity to go all out and pink and glittery. Who wants to see a pink fox? Here we are:

So – a lot of products were used in this card, from lots of different companies…..so I’ll begin….

Crafters Companion sentiment. I masked each part of the sentiment to stamp – instead of cutting the stamp apart, with the word ‘fabulous’ embossed with glitter pink embossing powder from WOW!; Pink glimmer card from Stampin Up; Altenew Cozy Flannel Cover Die; Waffle Flower ‘Be Her’ stamp and die set, Copic colouring.

Phew – I don’t I missed anything out…….let me know if you think I have!

Anyhoo – I am sure we don’t Prosecco to get fabulous – but it certainly helps increase our fabulous-ness………..(a new word!)……and this little fox looks like she is quite stern and precise…….

So – an awesome theme for the challenge and so many ways to take the word ‘fox’ and ‘foxy’. I look forward to seeing what you create and dropping you a comment – or two!

🙂 🙂

Fancy Wedding card

Hello there. I have gone back to my roots – the first kind of card making I ever did. Very detailed, very time-consuming, and throwing lots of different die-cuts at it.

20180930_124151

This is a card for a wedding I am attending next week. Neither of them follow my blog or Instagram – so I should be OK!!! 🙂

When I make wedding and anniversary cards for people I know, then I always turn to my Sue Wilson/ Creative Expressions dies and card-stock. This was – obviously – no exception.

I started by creating my shaker heart using the fillables collection from Sue Wilson, and I had to go to YouTube to figure out which part I did first and glued first. Once I had the heart stuck down to my embossed piece of card, I filled it with some pearl hearts and sequins, then stuck it down to a piece of Stampin Up glimmer card. I then concentrated on all the other die-cuts and the layout.

The heart die-cut is made for this shaker shape, and fits perfectly over the top.

The bow is cut from a Spellbinders die set – out of glimmer card – stuck in shape with a brad (you can’t see this brad), then attached with 3D glue. The swirls were also out of glimmer card for added fanciness.

The stick pins I made from scratch, and had to let the Glossy Accents dry before adding them to the card. The glossy accents is in-between each piece on the stick pin. I am glad I used 3D glue for the bow and swirls, because I then had to remove them to add a large foam pad, as something for the stick pins to go into, therefore covering the sharp end.

Here is a close-up of the stick pins and bow:

and here is the heart shaker element:

Both of these pictures show the glimmer card better, too.

Umbrellas and rain drops

Hello again. Here is a card which appears a little darker than my usual, but it is actually quite sparkly if you turn it a little. I’ve tried to capture the effect, but it does look better in ‘real life’.

20180413_165701_00120180413_165737

I used a Clearly Besotted stamp set, and heat embossed onto black card with silver detail embossing powder. I then used my Polychromos to colour the images in, using 2-3 reds and 2-3 yellows. The black rain drops are from the matching dies for the stamp set, which are cut from Stampin Up black glimmer card, and individually stuck down.

I heat embossed the sentiments from the same stamp set, and added the whole thing to a white base card.

To try and get the glimmer from the rain drops, I had to prop the card against one of my perfume bottle – only because it had a nice image on the lid. Can you tell which perfume it is?

Glimmer – clean and simple

20180120_183839

Hello everyone. I have gone with glimmer for this card, as you can see. I don’t usually do anything card-wise for Valentines day, but the current challenges I am entering made it actually quite hard to stay away form this theme….

I used a 6 inch square white card base, and added hearts from a Sue Wilson set I bought last year. This set of dies – Fluttering Heart fillable collection – has nesting layers which were ideal for the sketch challenge.

I then turned to my Stampin Up glimmer card, and sued the white and pink for the hearts, and plain white card for the smaller detailed heart.

The sentiment if from Altenew ‘Hello Sunshine’, which is still sat on my table from my card the other day, and die cut with a small border die from a Catherine Pooler die set.

Here is a close-up of the glimmer…..just in case you needed one20180120_183935The challenges I will be entering are:
