‘C’ for Clean and Simple – ABC Christmas Challenge

Hello again. ABC Christmas Challenge has reached the letters ‘C’ and ‘D’ – the Christmas themes this month are ‘C’ for Clean and Simple, and ‘D’ for Distressing. Here is my card:

I dry embossed a piece of white card stock with a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder – but used the deboss side instead of the embossed side.

The bells are from Altenew, stamped using their inks, and the bow and sentiment were die cut from red glitter card stock.

I hope you can come and join us in our ‘CAS’ and/or ‘Distressed’ themed Christmas challenge – I look forward to seeing you there. xx

I shall be entering the following challenges:

Pink Peaceful Wreath

Hello. Here is my card for the new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge, starting from the beginning of the alphabet again, and we want to see your Christmas creations ‘A’ for Advent and/or ‘B’ for Bells. Helen is the host this time:

Using Altenew ‘Bells and Bows’ to create the hanging bell, and ‘Peaceful Wreath‘, on the background of the ‘Pallet Background’ stamp. The word ‘peace’ die cut several times and the last layer being some pink glimmer card from Stampin Up, with ‘Infinity Wood Frame‘ dies from Hero Arts.

Once I had the dimensions right, this card came together quite quickly.

I hope you can come and join us and make an early start on your Christmas crafting – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Jingle Bells

Hello everyone, and welcome to the start of another challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge. This time, the themes are ‘J’ for Jingle, and/or ‘K’ for kids.

I went with the Jingle theme to create this card:

I knew I wanted to use the Altenew ‘Bells and Bows‘ stamp set, which is so versatile, and used a newer set of brown Altenew inks. I stamped the images over a piece of white Crafters Companion Neenah card stock, and die cut that piece with a Catherine Pooler die – I love using that ‘postage’ effect around the die.

I then took the jingle bells word dies from X-cut, and cut them out several times with a brown card stock, then matted a black layer on top, slightly off-set, to give some dimension and shadow – but the shadow being brown this time:

I hope you can come and join us this challenge, and the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you. I hope to see you there.

Wreath and bells

Hello everyone. I have spent some time crafting this weekend and making some Christmas cards ready for charity. Also – of course – having some fun…..

20181020_20374320181020_20375020181020_203725

This card was inspired by the current challenge at Color Throwdown – to use Green, Kraft, and white.

It turned out to be a completely Altenew card – except for the sentiment – using an older stamp and die set, and a couple of new ones.

I used Altenew inks, and changed the greens a little for the second card. I didn’t add all the detail to the bells, quite liking the simplicity of them as they are. I was toying with letting the bells dangle on some string or such like, but added them as you see instead.

The sentiment is from a new stamp set I have yet to play with from Clearly Besotted ‘Hang Around‘ and has baubles and bows. I thought the French sentiment suited the card for some reason – so I went with it.

I have decided that I will be making several of each Christmas card ready for the charity event, I’m probably going to stick with the more clean and simple card. I say that a lot – then go and make things a little more complicated.

Anyway – it’s all about enjoying yourself, isn’t it?

Have a great day – catch you later. 🙂

Another two-fer

20171217_124010

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well, and enjoying this time of year. I have had time to play and make some last-minute cards, so I will be posting a couple today, and probably a couple tomorrow.

The first card is basically a red and white card, with a pop of green, and all glittery. I love doing glittery cards when it is Christmas, and you can see I really went to town on this one!

The card is 8 inches square, with a white glitter card as base – from Crafters Companion – with a red glitter card frame. The trees are from a Sue Wilson set I have had for a few years, again cut out of glittery card, this time in green.

The red poinsettias are from an x-cut die – again I have had this for many years and is my go-to die for poinsettias. This time cut out of a shiny red card instead of glitter. I layered a couple of the die-cuts together, giving some dimension to each leaf, adding a small gem to the centre.

The flowers were stuck down with 3D glue, and I also inserted some holly branches – Sue Wilson again – just underneath the petals.

The sentiment is die cut in green glitter – I know, lots of glitter – and stuck down after passing the words through my Xyron machine.

I shall be entering this card into the following challenges:

The second card for today is a much more simple and flatter card:

I used the Altenew layering Bells and Bows stamp set, as I am entering this card into the current Cards in Envy challenge – to use bells. I have the matching die set, and cut out the bells, and also cut some red bows out of red glitter card.

I stuck them down onto a polka dot embossed panel, for some interest in the background, and added the sentiment as you can see.

So – a couple of cards, each one different to the other. I hope you can call back tomorrow when I post another couple of cards……
