Gold and Cream Thank You

Hello there. I hope everyone is keeping well. I had a crafty Zoom meeting yesterday with my Stampin Up Demonstrator – just chatting and crafting – and I’ve yet to complete a card from that.

I have, however, made a another card I would like to share with you today:

Using the colour scheme from Colour Hues Challenge, I made the layer on the white card base just slightly smaller, and embossed it with a Crafters Companion embossing folder.

On another strip of cream card, I stamped and heat embossed some leafy images from Altenew ‘Freeform Greenery‘ using Altenew gold embossing powder.

The strips either side of the sentiment are also embossed using that same gold powder, this time on a strip of double-sided sticky tape. I heat embossed these strips twice to get a smoother appearance.

The sentiment is from a new Stampin Up stamp set – just kinda sitting there on my desk – stamped, heat embossed, then used a tag punch for the end of it.

Winter Bouquets

Hello there. A new challenge has begun at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The theme is ‘anything goes’ as long as it is Christmas. Here is my card:

I used the Honey Bee Stamps ‘Winter Bouquet‘ Honey Cuts and took lots of inspiration from watching YouTube and Nicole Spohr when she was making cards with this set.

The main thing for me was to use Copics on the die-cut elements to create some dimension – a game changer for me. I never thought of doing that to die cuts when using a coloured card.

I die cut the elements out of coloured card, used some matching Copics, then assembled as you see. The centre of the poinsettias are actually a very bright yellow glitter card – no idea where it came from – and then I just used a brown Copic to tone it down.

The sentiment is white heat embossed, and is from a Stampin Up set and white heat embossed onto a die cut panel.

I stuck most of the element down with 3D glue gel, only the tiny sprigs where stuck with glue.

The background is a piece of water-colour card and spritzed with Lumi spray – I wanted a bright shimmer to the background. then came the Nuvo drops – I’ve not used them for a few weeks so here we go – making up for the loss!

I hope you can come and join us for this challenge – I look forward to seeing you in our gallery. xx

Spring Flowers – Daisy

Hi there. A new challenge is beginning at Cardz 4 Galz and this time the theme is ‘Spring Flowers’. Here is my card:

I used the Altenew ‘Spring Daisy‘ stamp set and stamped the flowers in two shades of grey, and the leaves in a grey outline, and green inside layer.

I didn’t add a central colour to the flowers, as I liked the two colour combination here.

Once I had used the matching dies to cut them out, I played with the layout a little, adding and taking away several times, then adhered the flowers with 3D gel, the leaves with glue, and some of the buds with dimensionals.

I took a sentiment from a Stampin Up stamp set for the top right corner….. then went to my stash of Tonic Nuvo Crystals Drops – I think I need an intervention here – I just can’t stop using them………………..

And if they weren’t enough – I went and added some bling with some sequins:

Well – who doesn’t like a little bling? The sequins are actually greener than they appear in the pictures, and the drops a little less green than they appear in the pictures……….

I hope you can come and join us and show us your ‘spring flowers’ – I look forward to seeing what you create, and will hopefully see there in our gallery. xx

You are amazing – remember that…..

Hello there. I have another card to share, using the Altenew ‘Rosy Outlook’ stamp and die set:

I stamped the flowers using Altenew inks, but for the fourth layer of the large rose I heat embossed in gold. The leaves I stamped the first two layers in green, then heat embossed the third layer in gold too.

The sentiment is from a Stampin Up stamp set, again heat embossed in gold, then doing a little juggling and partial die-cutting, I managed to cut the length to size, adding a little ‘flag’ ending to it.

I used Altenew ‘Dotted Swirls Debossing cover die’ for the background, layered with some black card stock – and there we have it.
