Framed Florals

Hello once again. I have had some time to create today:

This product quite is from Pinkfresh Studio, and includes the press plate, stamp, stencils, and a die. As I finally gave in last week to buying the Spellbinders Letterpress machine, I thought I would give it a whirl…

The press plate was inked with black ink, ad instead of using the Spellbinders card stock, I used Hammermill, and it worked perfectly fine for me.

I used the press plate twice, then took the layering stencils and coloured them with the colours from the current Color Throwdown Challenge – yellow, blue, and pink.

I used the very small blue blending brush to colour the branches darker, and also the base of all the leaves.

Once die cut, I played around with the arrangement, decided it needed a frame, so I used a Pinkfresh to create the frame, die cutting three times for dimension, and added the inner detail to the top frame.

Once placed on the card base, I then decided to use another cover plate to create some detail on the back. This plate is part of the Pinkfresh Studio virtual event happening at the moment, and I think I may well be using it more in the future – some subtle detail, but it is there nonetheless:

I snipped parts of the coloured floral image to place them inside the frame, attaching them to the back of the frame, then adding to the embossed panel and card base.

The sentiment is a previously foiled strip, and I chose black as the outline of the floral images is in black, then added some silver gems.

Happy Birthday

I’m back from my holiday to Turkey – fabulous and sunny – even though I was hit with a heavy cold on my return……I now feel I can get back into the flow of crafting.

It is time for the October challenge at Happy Little Stampers ‘anything goes birthday’. Here is my card:

Onto w white card base I layered a black panel, and added a dry embossed piece for additional interest.

The flower from Concord & 9th was stamped and then coloured using the layering stencils, then die cut with the matching dies.

Once adhered to the card with 3D foam, I added the foiled sentiment – using blac to tie in with the black panel.

I resisted adding some gems this time – shocker – and kept it quite simple.

You Are The Best

I have managed to play in my craft room today – trying to ignore all the battering winds and rain.

I’m currently loving using Pinkfresh Studios sets – the stamp, stencils, and die sets are so much fun to use. I decided to use a new set to me to create this card:

I started by stamping the image, then used the layering stencils to colour. Even though there are three layers for the flowers, I only used two Distress Oxide colours – but the lightest one I used for two of the layers so it appears darker on the second layer, then a dark blue for the third layer.

I decided I wanted the leaves brown, so I used Vintage Photo (I think!) again for both the layers, so the second layer gives a darker tone.

I then die cut the branch and turned to the card base.

The embossed layer is using a Simon Says Stamp 3D embossing folder, and cut down to smaller than the card base, and adhered using 3D foam.

I then stuck down the branch with some smaller pieces of 3D foam, stamped the sentiment and did the same.

For the colours at Color Throwdown I had to use a darker green, so after thinking about more leaves, stamping the sentiment in green (I really didn’t like that idea) or Nuvo drops, I actually found these green gems in my stash, and placed them as you see – 3 larger and 3 smaller.
